Term 1 Week 4 & 5: Brainstorming of Research Questions & Identify Areas of Research and Tasks to be Done

For the next two weeks (Week 4 & 5), you will brainstorm your research questions (sometimes known as RQs) & at the same time identify areas of research and tasks to be done.

The lesson will spread across TWO weeks due to the fact that some of you may miss the GRACE lesson due to Chinese New year holidays. Those who miss the GRACE lessons will have to complete their assignment online, even though you will not be meeting your teachers/facilitators.

Enabling Site Feeds on Your Blogs

There were some group blogs that had their "Site Feeds" disabled and were unsure how to activate the site feeds.  Some of the groups were using some downloaded "skins" which do not allow site feeds.  If your skins does not allow site feed, please change. 

To activate site feeds, please follow the following 6 steps in activating your site feeds. CLICK ON THE PICTURES/IMAGES TO ENLARGE THE VIEW.

RSS Feeds and Comment Posting on Your Blog

I can see that many of you had taken effort to decorate your blogsites. Keep it up.

However, do take note that if you use any skin from any source, please obtain permission from the owners.

Secondly, please enable the rss feeds on your blogs so that your updates would appear on the GRACE info blogsite.

Thirdly, please enable the posting of comments, this is to allow your teachers and facilitators to comment on your postings (which is also a form of communication). But you could choose to moderate the comments so that you do not receive spams. I think blogger.com is quite safe about spam, unless someone called themselves "SPAMERSPAMERSPAMER" comment on your postings.

Mediafire - Online file sharing/storage

When you select a file-sharing/hosting site, please read the terms and condition.

Please read carefully the terms and condition carefully if you wish to use mediafire.

Here are the issues I had with mediafire.

1) For free account users, the files will be deleted by mediafire if you do not access it for more than 30 days. Don't forget that those are your project files and do you want them to be deleted?

2) High downtime.

I'm bringing up this because I noticed one group is using mediafire http://2009s2i1.blogspot.com/2009/01/our-upload-url.html. And the link to their files is dead.

Your GRACE Blogs and Assignments

We did a very quick scan through your blogs and find that some of you are quite innovative and creative in coming up with your blogs.

However, we realised that some of the blogs only contain weekly self/group reflections. We don't think that the group blogs should just host your weekly reflection alone. As we have mentioned earlier, we would like to see your ASSIGNMENT,PROJECT UPDATES etc.

Some of you have creatively used different methods of showing your assignments, which are quite recommendable and you may wish to take a look.

This group make use of the http://www.box.net which host their assignment document and files. If you have an account with such online file storage, you can upload your written reports and presentation slides for sharing.

Blog 2: http://2009s2i25.blogspot.com/
This group copied their assignment questions on their blog and answer those questions on the blog posting directly.

Blog 3: http://2009sec2i21.blogspot.com/2009/01/our-group-formation.html
This group did screen captures and post it online.


Hence, we would like to see more improvement on your group blogs.
